Again, Speaker and 21 PDP Lawmakers defect to APC

22, including the speaker, of the 24 Peoples Democratic Party, PDP members of the Kwara State House of Assembly has defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC leaving only Hon. Ilyas Ibrahim and Hon. Fatai Salman, representing Malete/ Ipaye/ Oloru state constituency and Ilorin North state constituency in PDP. 
The Speaker of the Assembly, Mr. Rasak Atunwa announced the defection at plenary on Wednesday.

The defection is not unexpected. The state governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed as well as his political godfather, Bukola Saraki, had earlier defected to the APC.
The Kwara state legislators joined 27 of their counterpart from Sokoto State who on the 8^th of January to the APC from the PDP in line with the action of the governor, Aliyu Wamakko.
The state governor, had joined four other governors to move from the PDP to the APC.
