President Jonathan Announces Tukur’s Stepping Aside as PDP Chairman

President Jonathan Thursday  announced  the stepping  aside of the National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ,  Alhaji Bamanga  Tukur . He said the letter of stepping aside is with the PDP national secretary, Prof. Adewale Oladipo.

Another  NEC meeting, he said,   is to hold Monday to elect a new chairman.Governor Liyel  Imoke  was said to have moved a motion for Tukur stepping aside.

The President said that he will give Tukur a new job tougher than being PDP chairman.
Tukur was  said to have been given a standing ovation.
