The Speaker of the House of Representatives,  Aminu Tambuwal, other principal members of the House and members, who defected to the All Progressives Party (APC) Monday objected to the suit by the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP), seeking to prevent the House from changing its leadership.

Tambuwal and 52 others, named as defendants, queried the jurisdictional powers of a Federal High Court in Abuja to hear the suit.

PDP is seeking  to restrain the defendants from effecting any changes in the composition of the House's leadership.

Tambuwal and others said the PDP not only lacked the locus standi to institute the suit but the suit itself  constituted an abuse of court process.
