Sambo, Tambuwal, Fashola, Sultan, Others To Grace National Qur’anic Competition In Jigawa



The Vice President, Arc Namadi Sambo, Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Lagos State governor, Mr  Babatunde Fashola, Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji Saadu Abubakar are among the dignitaries expected to grace the 2014  National Quranic recitation competition (Musabaqa) slated to hold in Jigawa State between 14th and 22nd February.
This was revealed by the state chairman, organising committee, who is also the Jigawa State commissioner for education, Prof Haruna Wakili while briefing newsmen on the level of preparations  made by the state government to host the competition.
Wakili explained that Jigawa State contested for hosting the competition along with three other states and emerged winner, adding that this is the second time the Lamido government will host the competition in four years.
He said 27 states of the federation are expected to participate in  the competition with 10 candidates comprising 5 males and 5 females each competing in different categories.
According to him, adequate arrangement has been made for accommodation, feeding, transport and security of the candidates, judges and participants in the events.
