THE SUMMARY OF 158TH SERMON  TO BE DELVERT AT AREA 10 JUMA'AH MASJID ABUJA, BY YAHYA GARBA AL-YOLAWI, ON 16TH   FEB 2018/ 30RD J/AWWAL 1439AH

TOPIC: YOUR ROLE TOWARD RELIGION OF ALLAH

We give thanks to Allah (SWT), we ask Him the most high to continue to shower His mercy upon the leader of humanity, Prophet Muhammad (SAW). His house hold, His companions and those who follow his guidance until the day of Qiyaamah.
To proceed; My Dear beloved brothers and sisters in Islam, what is your role toward Islam, lets first of all, talk on

a clear reality and bitter experience we found our self in to. Indeed every concerned Muslim could be worried and even shed tears, when he looks at the state of this ummah,he would wonder is this the  ummah  Allah said about her “ You are the best nation produced [ as an example for mankind…” is this the ummah was  commended and praised by Allah [SWT] where he says “ And thus we have made you a just community that you will be witnesses over the people and the messenger will be a witness over you. Surely, when you consider the position of this ummah in the Qur’an and compare it to its present situation and what is obtainable on the surface of this earth he would be realize that the ummah has digressed far away from what Allah  and the messenger wanted her to have or to be. Verily people have change the pattern of islamic teachings and deviated from sunnah of the prophet [SAW] and Allah is saying [Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of people until they change what is in themselves..” as the result, the ummah become weak, humiliated and over powered even by devils; cow worshipers and people disobeyed Allah and made among them pigs and monkeys from those came before you.
Laa haula quwwat illah billah, the ummah is gradually becomimg as what the prophet describe; in a hadith reported by Abu Dawud from hadith of sauban “there is a tendency a time will come where nations would gang against you people from every aspect of life they said: is that because we are few in number at that moment o messenger of Allah  He replied no but you are large in number at that time but you are just like river form you amount to nothing and Allah will remove your respect from hearts of your enemies. And Allah will sent “al wahnu” to your hearts they asked what is al “wahanu” o the messenger of Allah he said:  complete worldly material inclination and you will hate to die.
Muslim ummah nowadays is experiencing degradation after respect, ignorance after knowledge, and weaknesses after strength; it has taken over to the back seat after occupying the driver seat. What really happens, what when wrong with this ummah. Allah [SWT] made it clear to us that: “Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of people until they change what is in themselves..” everyone is aware of  of this bitter experience and sad reality which can make everyone  to ask himself one simple question, what did u contributes to your religion. Now I am asking myself; what is my role toward Allah’s religion. Very simple question, what is your role toward your religion? It is a question that needs to be repeated every now and then, we need to remind our self this question always what have I done to my religion. An answer to this may lead some people must especially young muslim begin to think and even asked then what role can I play toward my religion. The question sound very good one but in reality it signifies the weakness of any one asking that kind of question in understanding what religion need from him. This because, his question and thought comes only when or after receiving admonishing or listening to an imam. But if  the issue of contributing toward his  religion matters to to him, it will constantly be with him and  it makes him  always think of it  day  in day out  and when each and every one of us thinks of it would  definitely fine the gap to contribute his quarter in this religion. However, the issue of religion unfortunately becomes a secondary issue to almost every one of us and beyond that to some religion counts nothing to them. He will see evil or bad things happening to Islam and his people he just shake his shoulder and move on, as if he was only created to eat, drinks, obtain certificates, get a job buy a car and married beautiful wife. I am not saying one should not pursuit what is good for him in this life but what supposed to come first item on the list of your agenda is it issue of your job, car purchasing, money, house, children, wife etc. what supposed to be your primary assignment in this world, your first item in the list of your agendas; is it worldly materials or what you were created for, is it wealth and worldly accumulation or your religion. 
You most tell yourself the truth, what is my primary assignment in this world, what am i created for. Let me be frank with you. you were not created but just to work for religion of Allah or to worship Allah or to obey Allah and His messenger [SAW]. Allah says [And I did not created the jinn and mankind except to worship me. I do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed me.]Q51:57-58 
This is the purpose,this the agenda, this is the first assignment given to you by your creator. Unfortunately a large number of muslims today are thinking working or striving in the course of religion is an assignment stipulated only to ulama [scholars] or those have nothing to do. I swear by Allah this is a great mistake. we are all in that train, we are all in that ship, if sank it will sink with every one and that ship is your religion.  Why are you a muslim What is the meaning of bearing the name of Islam if  you can’t add anything to Islam. Never separate your religion and your life think of it day and night, In the market place in work shop in your office what can you do to promote Islam. Contribute according to your capacity and capability learns from companion of the prophet [SAW]. 
A live example from Abubakar Assideeq[ RA] and others:
This is Abubakar Assiddeeq [R.A] the moment he accepted islam he realized the sense of responsibility toward his religion immediately after pronouncing the kalmah [word of testimony] he move ahead to call and convinced others about it and just in less than 24 hours he came back with five (5) of ten sahabas mubasharin with  paradise they have all accepted islam. Now I will ask what due sayyidna Abubakar learns at that moment how many nasiha he received in that day, but he discover something urgent need to be done toward his religion and move ahead to actualize it. 
Another live example is commitment of Tufail [RA]: the minute he accepted Islam he discover his responsibility to Islam and seek permission to go on mission of daawa and said: o messenger of Allah permit me to call my people they are idol worshipers and evil doers; in his return he come back with almost all of his tribe Daws have accepted Islam including abu Huraira R.A that famous companion with highest number of ahadith committed to memory among the sahaba R.A.
Abu nu’aim bn mas’ud also starts to struggle for the cause of his religion the day he become a muslim in the battle of khandaq,he seeek the permission from the prophet to go work and plot against disbelievers among Quraish and Jews of abu Quraiza who gang to finish islam at that point of time Which he succeeded in his plans and islam become victorious in that battle field.
My brothers and sisters in islam we must know that everybody most contribute his quarter toward his religion. We should never feel big or small to work for our religion look at hud- huda as small as bird but contributed to his religion by gathering information of bilqees and deliver it to prophet sulaiman [AS] which eventually lead to their conversion to islam according to majority of scholar.  
You as an officer, doctor, lawyer, senate, house of Reps, Governor, minister, chairman, director, student, mechanic house wife,  manager in your office in your workshop or market place you  are an ambassador of islam, you have  role to play. Conduct yourself according to Islam is a contribution to Islam. To stop bad things to happen is also a contribution; to make sure Islam and  muslim were not maltreated is part of it, to do things right and stop corruption is aslo part of it. To ensure justice and equity  to everybody is a great contribution to Islam.  Everybody has a role to play; has a gap to fill and contribution toward Allah’s religion is very essential and a collective effort, fingers are not equal but all produced nails.
There are four steps to assist u in finding your answers;
1. You must put religion of Allah as primary and priority in your heart. One can never support what he don’t like or seen as unnecessary.
2.  You must spare time to learn your religion. Know your religion  inside- out must especially areas  that are fard ain [individual obligations]. One can never like or support what he don’t know or ignorant of vital issues concerning that thing.
3. Put in to practice all what you have learnt of your religion; and living with it in your day to day life.
4. Call people to it and be patient in the process.

In conclusion, Allah promise to ful fills His religion with or without us, through our contribution or others contribution. Allah [SWT] says: they want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it. He is He who sent His messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion, although those who associate others with Allah dislike it. It was narrated from  abu huraira in a sound hadith of the prophet saying: “Tthe Qiyama will not occur until muslim embattled Jews until a jews man will take cover behind a tree or stone and the tree or stone will call a muslim and said o servant of Allah behind me is a jews come and finish him except the tree of Garqad that is a tree for jews” Bukhri and muslim

May Allah forgive me where I am wrong and guide us to the right path…Ameen.
Finally, We ask Allah the most high, to continue to guide and protect our Iman. May He [SWT] assist us and ease our tasks in this world and in the hereafter. O Allah grant us peace in our hearts,  peace in our homes, peace in our working places and eliminate laziness, procrastination and evils deeds  in our country Nigeria. Ameen 
NB, It is happening again, public hearing on equal inheritance is taking place on Monday 19th Feb,2018 at National Assembly and the last day for submission of memorandum is today Friday 16th  Feb. May Allah swt reward you as you submit, attend  or share this information to muslim ummah.

GENDER AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITY BILL
The Sen. David Umar led Committee on Judiciary, Human Right and Legal Matters has been consistently making moves to pass the gender equality bill to law. They have packaged the one and same piece under various guises and titles. This time, it is named “Gender and Equal Opportunity Bill” The content and intents of this bill are contradictory to the fundamentals of Islam.
The Committee in a publication signed by its Chairman, belatedly notified stakeholders and members of the general public of the public hearing. Based on the foregoing, we sincerely implore all Muslim Organisations and individuals to as a matter of urgency, submit Memos on the issue. We must collectively wade off this invasion on our religion.
The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) beseechs all and sundry to submit 15 hard copies of the memorandum to the Committee Secretariat at room 24, 2nd floor, Senate wing, National Assembly Complex, Abuja and soft copy; or submit at senatecommitteeonjudiciary@gmail.com 
The deadline for submission is Friday, 16th February, 2018. 
The Public hearing holds on Monday, 19th February, 2018, by 11:00am prompt at the Senate Conference Hall, Room 022 New building, National Assembly, Abuja. Muslim organizations and individuals should owe it a duty to attend. “In unity is strength”
