*>> SPECIAL APPEAL TO GOV NYESOM EZENWO WIKE TO RESCUE RIVERS STATE CUSTOMARY COURTS <<*

1: *Your Excellency Sir,* permit me once again to reach out to you through this medium, but this time around on issue that falls within your primary Profession Constituency, of which you should know better than my likes. From the primal overview of evaluation of Rivers people and from the prism of my personal assessment, it's not in doubt that the *Judicial Arm of Government* has received more developmental impact in terms of Infrastructures, utilities and social welfare from your almost 6yrs Administration than ever before in the last 20yrs, and you deserve every bit of commendation you get in that regard. But still, *there is more to what you have actualized for Rivers State Judiciary than what you are yet to accomplish,* you what to know why?

2: Our Governor Sir, you have extended developmental hand of fellowship to *River State Appeal Court, High Courts and Magistrate Courts,* but you tactically forgot that *Customary Court* being the lowest Court in the land is also part of Rivers State Judiciary, or is it not? Am aware that *Customary Courts legislate on written and unwritten Customary Laws guiding Moral, Traditional, Cultural and Social values most dear to the people and ancestral norms most reverend in the land, being offshoot of defunct Native Laws of Tribes, Ethnic Nationalities, Communities and Villages, and also the most Common Court with widest local jurisprudence in the State that is of paramount important to harmonious coexistence of the people in the den of Traditional Justice against Jungle Justice.*

3: *Your Excellency Sir,* it's with *dexterity of citizen's obligation as Intelligentsia Crusader of Rivers extraction that am prompted to vociferously bring to your notice the deplorable condition of Customary Courts within the 32 Local Jurisdictions across the 23LGAs, apart from that of Eberi-Omuma and Okrika Court rooms, the rest needs urgent renovation.* Worst still, the welfare of Chairmen and Members of Customary Courts have also been gravely undermined and unmet, *the Administrators of local matters are nearing the point falling into depression if not being frustrated due to over 60% slash in their allowances and sundry welfare concerns right from the first year your Administration came on board.* Most of them are indebted and can hardly meet up with family responsibilities talkless of extended hand of goodwill to needy acquaintances, this is how bad the situation is at present Sir. *From my checkbook, the last time official vehicles were procured for Chairmen and Members of Customary Courts was in 2011, over 10yrs ago,* I don't want to recount the consequences and experiences that abound thereof in other not to elongate my open appeal Sir.

4: Finally, *I am moved to advance this appeal because I know that you will react positively and the administration of Rivers State Customary Courts will be better for it,* to this effect I will not bore you much on the issue raised, hence permit me to stand down herewith.

    *Thank you and God Bless!*
